The Lord is known as Sakshi, because He is the all knowing witness. We all need sense organs to understand everything like a nose to smell, tongue to taste, eyes to see and so on. Lord does not need any sense organ to know or perceive things, but He can perceive them directly. So He is known as Sakshi. He also witnesses the joy in the liberated souls.
This life itself is like a play where we all Jivatmas are the actors and the Lord is the director.
The Lord witnesses all our actions. We need to lead a righteous life towards the Lord who is a witness to our life.
