gṛhyamāṇais tvam agrāhyo vikāraiḥ prākṛtair guṇaiḥ
ko nv ihārhati vijātuṁ prāk siddhaṁ guṇa-saṁvṛtaḥ (10.10.32)
O Lord, You exist before the creation. Therefore, who, trapped by a body of material qualities in this material world, can understand You?
Kṛiṣhṇa’s name, attributes and form are Absolute Truth and they existed much before the creation. We the material beings have been created in this material world much later, from material elements, so how can we ever understand this great magnanimous personality. Our senses are all having limitations by which we cannot understand Him perfectly.
We can only understand the Supreme Lord Krishna only by,
ataḥ śrī-kṛṣṇa-nāmādi na bhaved grāhyam indriyaiḥ
sevonmukhe hi jihvādau svayam eva sphuraty adaḥ (CC Madhyalila 17.136)
Therefore material senses cannot appreciate Kṛiṣhṇa’s holy name, form, qualities and pastimes. When a conditioned soul is awakened to Kṛiṣhṇa consciousness and renders service by using his tongue to chant the Lord’s holy name and taste the remnants of the Lord’s food, the tongue is purified, and one gradually comes to understand who Kṛiṣhṇa really is.
bhaktyā mām abhijānāti yāvān yaś cāsmi tattvataḥ
tato māṁ tattvato jñātvā viśate tad-anantaram (BG 18.55)
One can understand Me as I am, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, only by devotional service. And when one is in full consciousness of Me by such devotion, he can enter into the kingdom of God.
We the people of this material world fail to understand Him completely because of our lack of complete knowledge. It is possible to understand Him as mentioned by Him, only by devotional service. It is not possible to understand Him by just observing everything everywhere as He the Lord is present everywhere and in everything. Only Devotional service can help us in understanding Him.
Lets chant the Holy Name of this magnanimous personality and seek to serve Him more and more with Devotion and True Bhakti to understand Him much better and better.
